ATMOSPHERE
Venice Architecture Biennale 2025
TIME SPACE EXISTENCE – Palazzo Mora
May 10 – November 23, 2025
Crafting Atmosphere is an architectural installation by Mexican studio Materia, presented as part of the TIME SPACE EXISTENCE exhibition curated by the European Cultural Centre, in conjunction with the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025.
The exhibition explores Materia’s approach to architecture as a dialogue between sensorial experience and cultural memory. Through light, materiality, and tectonic assembly, the studio transforms space into a medium for storytelling, identity, and renewal.
Structured around three design strategies—In-Between Space, Voids of Light, and Surface of Change—the installation invites reflection through tactile models, drawings, and technical details. It becomes an open archive where craftsmanship, sustainability, and emotional depth converge.
By placing human experience at the core of its practice, Materia envisions architecture not just as shelter, but as a sensory and cultural vessel—a way of crafting atmosphere.
